LONGi, a prominent solar technology manufacturer, and Senergia, a Swedish solar energy wholesaler, have collaborated with the non-profit organization Project Vita to donate a solar-powered freshwater system to a maternity clinic in Linga Linga, Mozambique. The project, completed in May 2024, included the construction of a water tower and the installation of LONGi solar panels to power a water pump, supplying fresh water to the clinic. Since its completion, the system has benefited 58 newborns.

Project Vita’s founder, Michel Olofsson, highlighted the essential role of hygiene in maternity clinics, pointing out the severe lack of fresh, running water in rural Africa, which is crucial for reducing maternal and infant mortality rates. The partnership has been instrumental in addressing this critical need.

At a ceremony last week, construction commenced for a new park adjacent to the Los Angeles River channel in Tarzana.

Caballero Creek Park, which will be located on a 1.5-acre site off of Lindley Avenue between Victory Boulevard and Erwin Street, is the result of a partnership between the City of Los Angeles, the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority, and Los Angeles County.

Los Angeles City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield help to secure funding from seven different sources for the project, which was announced in 2018. His office also announced that the project will serve as an outdoor partnership for Reseda High School.

The ministers focused on improving the electricity supply to poultry farms, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the sector’s growth.

According to the Royal Household’s latest accounts, published Wednesday, work has started on refurbishing the gas-powered lanterns at Buckingham Palace so they run on electricity, while Windsor Castle — where Prince Harry and Meghan wed in 2018 — has had solar panels fitted on its roof for the first time.

Project Nexus, a partnership between the Turlock Irrigation District (TID), the California Department of Water Resources (DWR), Bay Area development firm Solar AquaGrid, and UC Merced, received the Edmund G. “Pat” Brown Award from the California Council for Environmental and Economic Balance (CCEEB).

CCEEB describes itself as a “nonprofit, nonpartisan coalition of business, labor, and public leaders, which advances balanced policies for a healthy environment and a strong economy.”

The emerging field of agrivoltaics has come a long way in just a few years. Solar power generation units will be deployed at 130 primary medical care facilities across Ukraine.

This was reported by the Ministry of Health, Ukrinform saw.

It is noted that equipment will be purchased and installed within the framework of the joint project run by the Ukraine’s Ministry of Health and the World Bank “Health Enhancement and Lifesaving, HEAL”.

“Regular enemy attacks on civil infrastructure endanger the full-fledged operation of our healthcare system. That is why we are working to provide medical facilities with opportunities for maximum autonomous work, so that patients can receive all the necessary medical care without interruption and in full. Modern technology allows for strengthening our energy security, including through installing solar power units,” said Minister of Health Viktor Liashko.
